Holidays and wedding updates

We are less than 5 months away and we're slowly (very slowly) getting more things checked off the list!

We hope everyone's holidays were wonderful. We had a great time with our families and friends. We started in Cedar Falls for Christmas Eve/Christmas day with the Malm's. Besides an icy, tense drive home- it was a lot of fun!
The cousins minus 3 of us.

We spent New Years Eve in Iowa City with some friends and then headed to the Swartzendruber's in Kalona for a few days. Aaron's sister Hannah shared the news her and Jeremy got engaged! They are looking at a date possibly in October, 2009. We are so excited for them!

Aaron's triumph!

My dad had is first of two knee surgeries on January 29. His right knee was replaced. The Dr. said it was the 3rd largest sized knee he's ever replaced! Way to go Dad! He spent 5 days in the hospital and recovery seems to be going well (or so I hear). His left knee is scheduled for Friday, February 13.

Wedding updates: We purchased Aaron's wedding band today. It will come in next week, we're really excited about it!

I booked the tickets for our honeymoon for only $475! That's round-trip for the two of us to Seattle. Our tentative schedule is to spend 2 days in Seattle, then head to Ladner, BC Canada and stay at the River Run Cottages bed and breakfast. It looks like a beautiful, romantic, QUIET getaway for some nice relaxation. (Rated 3 stars on Best Places to Kiss in North America) Then we will head to Vancouver, BC Canada and stay at the Walle Center Hotel (nothing fancy but I'm excited about the looks of it!) and head back to Seattle for an extra night to make sure we're back in time to fly back home the next day.

We're so excited for the wedding, especially to see family and friends! My dear, dear, wonderful, long lost friend Erin who moved to Texas in 1998 is coming back for the wedding.
(Erin and I in 1997)

We haven't seen each other since 2001!
There is also a chance another very dear friend of mine, Kayla, will not be deployed to Afghanistan as planned and will be able not only to attend the wedding, but be a part of the party. The picture is of Kayla and I in 1998 at World of Fun. I'm sure both of them are happy I posted these!

I will be in Cedar Falls this weekend hopefully finalizing a few more details with my mom for the wedding!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years and STAY WARM!
It's been down to -28 actual temp here!
