Hey Chicago what do ya say?

Our 2nd favorite time of year is here.....baseball time! It comes 2nd of course, to football time :)
**This is the Win flag I surprised Aaron with when we moved into the house....at the beginning of Cubs in the playoffs....so yes, this is the first time we were able to fly it. And fly it we did!**

We went to the IA Cubs home opener yesterday (we won!) and the weather was perfect for it. Much better than the snow we had on the ground less than two weeks ago! A storm moved through Iowa April 5th, the day of the rock show, and brought over 4 inches of snow in some parts, very quickly.
Parts of the interstate even closed and Aaron and I got to drive 2 hours in it to get home from Cedar Falls. I'll be happy if we don't see any more snow this year....

Aaron and I found $29 tickets to St Petersburg, FL and decided to go! We left on a Monday morning and were home by Wednesday at 11:00. Lucky for us, when we arrived a record breaking cold front decided to move in so we were in coats and blocking wind and sand from our face a majority of the time. It was still a nice, short trip. We stayed with a friend from Aaron's hometown we hadn't seen in almost 3 years and we took home a TON of shells!

We spent Easter weekend in Kalona. Aaron's mom and sisters threw a beautiful bridal shower for me at their church.
The purple girls
I've been having a blast putting my new kitchen together :)
As a family, we played the all time favorite Cranium board game again and created some new stories to share. It seems every time we play this game there are some hilarious moments-usually a result of the sharades portion of the game. My favorites this time were Aaron and the nun, Darwin and the tornado, and my Justin Timberlake.

So we are 8 weeks away and....ready? Maybe. More like nervous. ;)

Then comes the honeymoon! We are excited to find out we'll be able to catch a Coldplay concert in Vancouver and a Mariners game (vs San Diego Padres) in Seattle while we're there.

Aaron's job is still going well and they seem to be keeping busy at Aviva. There have been no talks of lay offs or even salary cuts in this area, which is rare news for most companies right now. I'm keeping busy with painting and wedding projects and recently posted ads to teach piano lessons out of our house. I've started to look into nanny positions, I think that would be a good fit for me and something I very much enjoy.
I've applied to many positions, received few interviews and unfortunately no offers. We heard some companies receive over 200 applicants to just one position, so figuring out a way to get your resume looked at and in front of them seems to be the trick.

We hope everyone is doing well and to see you in just 8 weeks!
